A Personal Note to Neighborhood Friends Church

Friends,

I want to share some exciting news about a new season ahead in ministry. Beginning January 1, 2026, I will step into the role of Superintendent of the Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting (RMYM) of the Evangelical Friends Church. RMYM exists to equip, energize, and establish Friends Churches and ministries in response to the Great Commission—and I’m deeply honored and humbled to serve in this capacity.

This transition also means a change in my bi-vocational role. My season as a Hospice Chaplain will come to an end on December 1, 2025. It has been a sacred privilege to walk with patients and families through their final chapters, and those experiences have deeply shaped my pastoral heart.

As I step into this new season, I will continue to serve as Lead Pastor here at Neighborhood Friends Church. My focus will now be fully centered on leading our church family and serving the broader network of Friends churches within our Yearly Meeting—supporting pastors, strengthening local congregations, and helping to cultivate new works of ministry.

My vision for this new chapter is simple:

To help the people, pastors, and churches of Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting flourish as we live out the Great Commission—becoming communities where the gospel transforms lives, relationships, and neighborhoods.

This new role isn’t a departure from our calling at Neighborhood Friends Church, but a continuation of it. Together, we will keep growing as a community that loves God, loves people, and carries the hope of Jesus into our everyday spaces. I truly believe God is writing a story of renewal among Friends, and I’m grateful that NFC is part of that story.

Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, and partnership in this season of transition and new beginnings. I’m excited to see how God will move among us—in our church, in our neighborhoods, and across the Yearly Meeting.

With gratitude and hope,
Pastor Donnie

RMYM Vision Statement – A Vision for Renewal, Rebuilding, and Release

As I’ve prayed and listened, one phrase continues to stir in my spirit: “It’s time to build again.”

I believe God is calling Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting into a new season of renewal, rebuilding, and release—a movement rooted in our Friends heritage and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Renewal begins with a fresh dependence on God’s presence, where every meeting becomes worship and every decision an act of obedience.
Rebuilding means strengthening our churches and leaders—encouraging pastors, developing young leaders, and deepening relationships across our communities.
Release calls us to reclaim our missional heart—planting new churches, sending new workers, and reigniting passion for Christ’s mission locally and globally.

Together, we can move forward with open hands, open hearts, and renewed courage. It’s time to build again—and I believe God has already begun the work.
