It’s October! Woohoo!
Aren’t you excited for the fall season? It’s the season of warm blankets, hot drinks, pumpkin spice, and binge watching Hallmark channel. At least four of those were for my wife. Guess which four. Wait, there were only four.
Nevermind.
Anyway, I am so excited for this season. How about you? I am excited for all the things fall presents; Leaves, cooler weather, sweaters, boots, a warm fire indoors or out. . the list goes on.
I am even more excited about our church. Here are just a few things I am pumped about!
NKids – I’m excited for the Kids to have their own space this Sunday and to learn in an environment that they have missed so much. Thank you for our NKids ministry team for serving and leading our children. Details below!
Youth – I am fired up about our Youth and the incredible job our youth leaders are doing. God is on the move even in a pandemic. If you missed Margo’s baptism story in person, I am asking Margo to write her story out for those who couldn’t make it to Fall Kickoff a couple weeks ago. We hope to post a Life Stories page on our new website soon!
Lifegroups – I am excited our Lifegroups have survived COVID. Vintage Friends is meeting on Thursday nights for a study in 2 Peter; they are also meeting every Tuesday morning for coffee and donuts in the parking lot. This Tuesday they will move indoors to our fellowship hall. Tuesday nights our women’s LG has started meeting again at the Hinshaw home (contact Rhonda for details rhinshaw@neighborhoodfriends.org ). On Saturday mornings at 7 am, our Men are meeting for coffee at Sweet Bloom Coffee in the parking lot for tailgate style coffee with dudes.
Prayer Course – I am super pumped to start the Prayer Course in a few weeks. This will be a course based on Pete Grieg’s book How To Pray. If you are interested in joining the course online or in person, send an email to me, Pastor Donnie, at dhinshaw@neighborhoodfriends.org.
So much to talk about. So much to be excited about. Let do this! See you this Sunday as Pastor John finishes up our ABIDE series of messages on John 15.
I love being your pastor.

ABIDE | WEEK 3 Discipleship for Dummies |
Pastor John will preach this Sunday. The sermon will be taken from John 15:12-17. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other. Being a disciple of Jesus is a thrilling adventure, and Pastor John is excited to share this core teaching of our Lord Jesus. See you Sunday in person or online. |

We will dismiss your K-5th grade student to join NKids Director Rhonda Hinshaw in a worship experience that is designed specifically for their life. WATCHING FROM HOME STILL? We have you covered! Here are some tips for watching at home:Set up a worship experience on a screen in a separate room for your kids through our Neighborhood Friends YoutTube Channel. If you can, we encourage you to worship and watch with them and watch the worship service after. Engage in the worship, pause the video during the memory verse and work with your kids. Talk about what they learned and ask questions that encourage them to share their feelings. You will be shocked at what they say. In fact, you might learn from their faith. Replay the video throughout the week and talk about the subject, and help them with their memory verse ever night prior to bed. |

PRAYER REQUESTS |
Prayer is a crucial way for us to connect to God and each other. Each week we ask that you share your prayer and praises with us through an online form you can fill out. It’s simple; fill out the form and your praise or prayer request will get sent to our Ministry Staff and we will forward the public requests to our mailing list. Fill out a request now and we will get an entire community of people to rally in prayer for your needs and for God’s glory. |
