Series: Galatians — The Gospel of Freedom
Message: The Law and the Promise (Galatians 3:15–29)
Date: November 10, 2025
Pastor Donnie Hinshaw
Big Idea: The law was never meant to save us; it points us to Christ, who fulfills every promise of God.
Sunday’s message reminded us that God’s relationship with us isn’t based on a contract we can break — it’s grounded in a promise He has already fulfilled in Christ.
“Contracts depend on performance. Promises depend on faithfulness.”
And let’s be honest — we’ve all failed on the performance side. But God’s promises hold even when our obedience wobbles.
Paul reminds us that the law wasn’t given to save us, but to show us our need for a Savior. It’s like looking in a mirror — we see our imperfections clearly. The law reflects reality; Jesus offers redemption.
We live in a world obsessed with comparisons. We scroll through social media, seeing everyone else’s highlight reels, and we start thinking, “I need to be more like them.” But true transformation doesn’t happen by imitation — it happens by identity.
You can’t copy your way to faith or health. You can only grow from the inside out when you realize who you already are in Christ.
Through faith, we’re not slaves or strangers — we’re children of God and heirs of the promise.
That means your worth isn’t earned, your belonging isn’t conditional, and your freedom isn’t fragile.
This week, before you start chasing approval or measuring yourself against others, pause and say:
“I am clothed in Christ. I am God’s child. I am free.”
Reflection Questions:
- Do you tend to view your relationship with God more like a contract or a promise?
- What “mirrors” are shaping how you see yourself — God’s truth or the world’s comparisons?
- How does knowing your identity as God’s child bring freedom to your week?
Next Sunday: Galatians 4:1–11 – From Slaves to Sons
We’ll look deeper at what it means to live as God’s sons and daughters — not bound by rules, but set free by grace.
Don’t forget – FRIENDSGIVING this Sunday!! Bring a main and side or dessert to share. We will be hearing from our Lifegroups ministry. Be a part of community and not just the crowd.
Introducing Block Patterns
WordPress block patterns offer a powerful way to create predefined block layouts, enabling users to quickly design pages and posts with a consistent look and feel. These patterns are essentially collections of blocks that are pre-arranged and configured, which you can insert into your posts and pages.
Moreover, the WordPress community and theme developers are actively contributing to a growing library of block patterns, making it easier for users to find a pattern that suits their needs. Whether you’re building a landing page, a photo gallery, or a complex layout, there’s likely a block pattern ready to use. This democratizes design for non-technical users while offering developers a way to extend WordPress functionality and provide more options to their clients.
