EXODUS.:. FREEDOM FROM .:. FREEDOM FOR

In this sermon series, titled “EXODUS: Freedom From, Freedom For,” we’ll delve deep into the parallels between the biblical narrative of Exodus and the life of Jesus. Just as the Israelites found liberation from bondage in Egypt, Jesus’s life reflects a journey of deliverance, from his miraculous escape as a baby to his ultimate sacrifice and resurrection. Through exploring Exodus, we gain profound insights into the character of Jesus and the freedom he offers us today. Join us on this transformative journey as we uncover the timeless truths of liberation and purpose.

SUNDAY MESSAGE:

WEEK  7- New Beginnings: From Sand In Your Toes to A Fire In Your Soul

Acts 7 | Exodus 3:1-9

Summary:

How do you experience God’s presence in your life? Is it a sudden interruption or the result of your intentional search for Him? In either case, you might be in need of a fresh start, much like Moses in Exodus 3:1-9. Join us this Sunday as Pastor Donnie delves into the story of Moses, drawing from both Exodus 3 and Acts 7. Discover how God prepared Moses, a man who grew up in privilege and then lived as a fugitive shepherd, to become a champion for the oppressed Israelites in Egypt.

Moses transitioned from standing on sand to walking on holy ground when God asked him to remove his sandals—not to honor God, but to realign Moses to God’s intentions. Through this act, God granted Moses a new beginning to see what God sees, hear what God hears, and care about what God cares about: His people. Your new beginning isn’t just for you; it’s for you and those around you. A fire isn’t real and authentic if it doesn’t burn. Let’s explore how God can ignite a new fire within us and guide us toward a transformative path.

Summer Gathering 2024 and the 75th Anniversary of Quaker Ridge

May 31-June 2 | Quaker Ridge Camp and Conference Center – Woodland Park, CO

Our Rocky Mountain Friends Church communities are celebrating the 75th Anniversary of our Camp and Conference Center called Quaker Ridge. Quaker Ridge is located in the Pikes Peak National Forest near Woodland Park, CO. This campground has been a special gathering spot for our churches and many Christian ministries for 75 years. MISSIONS AND OUTREACH

RYAN BARBER’S SUPPORT LETTER

Hello Friends and Family,

I’m writing to you to tell you that in February I will be traveling to New Zealand and then on to another Country with an organization called Youth With A Mission(YWAM). YWAM is a discipleship training school or DTS, it is a movement of young people to know God and to make Him known throughout the nations. I’ve had the idea of attending one of these schools for a long while and now I’ve finally decided to take the leap of faith and trust in Him.

One morning, while working on the golf course, I heard a song that some good friends Barry and Letitia sang. Barry is a former student of my youth leader and Letita is a native New Zelander.  They met on a DTS and now run the base that I’ll be going to. I knew as soon as I heard this song that I was being called to their base.  I’ve always wanted to go but something inside of me felt different. I then let go if all- my doubts and worries and said to God “Ok lets do it.” I then started crying; that’s so significant in my life because I can count on one hand the times that I’ve cried in the last ten years.

Now I’m telling you all this because I need your support. I need your support both financially and in prayer. YWAM is 100% student funded. Meaning that each student pays their own way.   This is done in order to ensure that each student wants and is eager to trust in God and wants to know Him better. Now I’ve set a goal of $8,000 USD.

The best way to help and support me is through my church. Neighborhood Friends Church if you go to our website of the same name there is a give section on the top row. Then from there you will be directed to a different website called Push Pay. Here you can decide to give on a recurring basis or a one time payment. Once you enter an amount there is a drop down menu; one of the options will say Ryan Barber YWAM Fund. Also, cash and Venmo is another great option if you want to give it directly to me for my YWAM account.

If you have any questions or just want to talk about YWAM, I would be happy to answer them. I want to thank you for being a part of my life and supporting me through this journey.

Matthew 28:18-20 TPT

Then Jesus came close to them and said, “All authority of the universe has been given to me. Now wherever you go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.”

GIVE TO NEIGHBORHOOD

We have experienced a great year of giving in 2023 at Neighborhood. We wanted to thank you for your generosity and obedience to the Lord as you tithe and give gifts regularly to keep this ministry going and growing. Generosity is at the heart of our church community, and we believe in the power of giving to make a positive impact in the lives of those in our neighborhood and beyond. Your tithes and offering support our basic mission efforts of providing salary for our pastors and general building costs. In essence, our current giving is simply keeping our church going. Our desire for 2024 is to move beyond our baseline giving. We are praying we move beyond going forward in our finances to growing forward in our finances so our impact can even be greater.

Jesus speaks to this investment of giving and generosity:

Luke 6:38 (ESV): 38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Join us as we look forward to 2024. Here’s to growing forward together.
