A New Liturgy

Today is going to be very special; I’m counting on it. Why? Well, I am planning on leading us in a very interactive worship experience in which WE will become the sermon together. Quakers traditionally practiced an open worship experience in many of their meetings; the goal of open worship was to allow the church space to meditate on God’s presence in silence and then encourage people, as the Holy Spirit leads, to share what God is speaking to them and to the church. Today I will lead us in a liturgy/open worship style worship gathering in which we will have time to P.R.A.Y..

We will use the word pray as an acronym for deeper moments with the Lord and each other. PRAY, REJOICE & REFLECT, ASK, and YIELD. As press into the presence of God today, I am praying that there will be some moving testimonies and insights for what God is saying to each of us. I’m even more excited to see how God informs and transforms us together for the work of his Kingdom and for His glory.
