Awe. This little three letter word can change everything we understand it.
The early Church in Acts chapter 2 only had one option in understanding this word— FEAR. To understand the relationship between God and His Church, Pastor Donnie turns to some classic stories in the Scriptures where a human being just like you and I directly interacted with God and Jesus. In each case, they are met with fear. Not respect, reverence or courage, but sheer speechlessness, humility, and complete surrender. They were so overcome with pure fear that many of them would cry out and beg for mercy. Do we still truly fear God? What has happened to the fear many of us used to have; believing that in a moment God can change everything in our lives.
Today, we will look at how a healthy fear of God can be the fuel for a healthy growing church like in Acts 2.
