Mark Week 9 | The Politically Incorrect Jesus

Today Pastor Donnie will be leading us in a powerful message titled “The Politically Incorrect Jesus.” How’s that for a cliffhanger!

Jesus. He is admired up to this point in our sermon series in the book of Mark. But today, the story we study, Jesus will make a pivot in his ministry by reaching out to the wrong person in society. Until now, Jesus was minimally criticized for healing a leper, a demon possessed man, and a paralyzed man. After all, these people were in deep need and had very little hope. But today’s story is when Jesus reached out to the despised; a man representing a class of people everyone avoided.
If you want to provoke controversy, or be politically incorrect, start a discussion of how Jesus reaches out to those who financially oppress others and use their misfortune for personal gain. Today, we look at how Jesus reaches out to the people you and I would never want to have a conversation with, and He leads them to the same grace He leads us to.

Unfair? Kind of.
Politically incorrect? Yes.
Beautiful? Absolutely.

Join us this morning. This is a message for our day, our time, and our world.
