Have you ever dressed up just for fun? Maybe it was when you were a child. Maybe it was yesterday. Either way, we dress up in the belief that we can become the bride, fireman, superhero, or queen. What might have been make-believe suddenly became a reality in your mind. In a spiritual sense, prayer simply dresses us up. The difference is that prayer dresses us up not to make-believe, but gives us faith-to-believe that our strength and protection is in the armor of God’s love for us. Prayer is prep for who we become when the challenges we can’t see ahead of us suddenly are all around us. Prayer prepares, strengthens, and puts a spiritual armor on us for what the Apostle Paul says is a constant battle around us and in the days ahead of us. Join us Sunday, dress up if you want, but stay home and prepare yourself; this is a battle you can’t lose.
